Up for sale here is my 944.
It’s got great provenance, known as the ‘Photocar Porsche’ it competed all over the Uk in hillclimbs and sprints during the naughties and wears its period livery to this date. A striking canary yellow with black vinyl lettering
(Lots of paperwork and pics to support this)

It’s an early 1984 2. 5 l manual 5 speed car.

I call it a series 1 1/ 2, as it has the old style dash but externally looks like an S2.

It has S2 front bumper, turbo rear valance and very wide S2 wheels which are from a 928.

Inside has a roll cage, omp bucket seats, matching harnesses and seats, but still has some refinements in terms of front carpet and a radio, so is pretty comfy on longer trips.

I’ve owned the car for about 1 1/ 2 years. Prior to my ownership it has been in hibernation following its extensive use in completion. As such we have been right through the car and carried out the following works in preparation with the plan to use it extensively for track days in 2024.
As such it is now a car I would happily get in and drive to Scotland this minute, or take to my local track.

Works include:

All genuine Porsche parts, cambelt, balance belt, alt belt, and lam belt idlers.

Water pump inspected (as was done replaced in 2010)

New thermostat and coolant flush and replaced

Any rubber hoses needed replaced

Oil filter and oil changed

Fuel filter changed, new genuine Bosch fuel pump and new genuine Porsche flexi fuel hoses front to back replaced

New ram air air filter

Fast response throttle cam

New dme relay (also comes with spare)

All brakes gone through. All callipers were new units in 2010. Fluids flushed and yellow stuff comp pads and race fluid fitted
Braided lines fitted.

Wheel bearings serviced and replaced where necessary

Toyo proxes track tyres all round
Wheels are 928 so very wide and as such are on custom hub spacers

S2 front bumper with front Lower splitter

Period Sony head unit with CD player and new front speakers (pioneer)

Suspension wise I’ve dropped the front 30mm on race springs and retained the bilsten shocks as they were in nice condition.

The rear is as low as can go on the adjuster plates and I had custom 21 click shocks made for it by Gaz.

It has larger anti roll bars front and rear. I’m told from a 928 possibly?

The sills had some rot from being stood. These have been cut out, fabricated inner sills and new outer sills welded in, as well as some floor sections. All done to a very high standard, and fully seam sealed and stone guarded throughout.

Custom exhaust made. I have always thought the 944 don’t make enough noise.
To quote a friend it now ‘sounds and smells excellent,

Body wise it’s very sharp and striking with zero rust and fibreglass front wings.

Mot’d until July 2024. Being an 84 it will soon be tax and mot exempt!

Milage showing 19500, believe it’s a genuine sub 120k miles car.

Drives superbly and puts a grin on your face. Everything works as it should, a testament to German engineering.

Only for sale as I don’t have time to use at the moment
