Welcome to my listing, for sale is this beautifully restored 1978 T140E Triumph Bonneville, this is a genuine UK machine with matching numbers, it had clearly sat in a showroom for a while when new as it was first registered on May 14th 1980. with just 5 previous owners, showing 22k miles
The bike came to me along with another following a bereavement, it was in bits, fully stripped down to the last nut and bolt so basically a basket case. As you can imagine I have spent a lot of time and money rebuilding this to the condition you see here.
The engine has been rebuilt completely, the sludge trap has been cleaned, the big ends replaced, new con rods and bolts, new main bearings, a rebore with new pistons and rings, new camshafts, new oil pump, new pressure switch and release valve.
The gearbox has been rebuilt using new bearings and oil seals
It has a new alternator stator, new solid state regulator rectifier and new electronic ignition, the wiring loom is brand new, as is the battery and ignition switch
All of the paintwork is new in stunning green and black base coat with 2k lacquer, the frame and swingarm is black 2k.
the brakes have been refurbished with new hoses, master cylinders etc, the callipers have been rebuilt with new seals
The exhaust system is completely new
New fork stanchions and seals
The tyres and inner tubes are new as are the chain and sprockets
The carbs have been refurbished with rubbers and choke plungers
And a whole list of other bits and pieces that make up a restoration like this……
Nuts and bolts, case screws, Gaskets and oil seals, clutch cable, speedo and tacho cables, tank badges and cap, fuel taps, stand springs, headlight unit, footpeg rubbers, …the list goes on, anyway, it’s a great bike, it starts readily and runs beautifully, I’ve done plenty of shakedown miles and re torqued the head, the bike is ready for spring, I have the current V5C in my name and it is registered historic for MOT and Tax exemption, viewing is encouraged, this is cash on collection or bank transfer only.
