Alfie is a beautiful dark blue Fiat 500L from 1972. This car has been lovingly restored by me, Alfie has a synchro Fiat 126 gearbox, which is a delight to use. The standard classic 500 gearbox has no synchromesh, Alfie however can be driven by anyone who can drive a modern manual gearbox car. The speedo reads 87, 000kms, which is 54, 000 miles.
The engine is a tuned replica of a 595 Abarth. This is a wonderful engine, producing around double the original horsepower, making this car able to keep up with modern traffic. The engine has the correct Dellorto FZD carburettor, the Abarth 595 camshaft, unleaded cylinder head with larger inlet valves and nickel copper silicone valve seats, ported and polished with a 1mm skimmed head, lightened flywheel and stainless steel high flow exhaust.
Most of the parts of Alfie have been replaced due to the age, which means that the next owners can enjoy the effort that went into this car.
Alfie gets free tax, is MOT exempt and costs me less than £100 a year to insure!
Alfie the Fiat 500L was imported into the UK from Sicily in January 2017, I bought Alfie from the previous British owners in January 2018 and I have made the car the lovely example it is today.
The only reason I'm selling Alfie is because I am buying another classic and need to free up the space in my garage.
To drive a Classic Fiat 500 means that people will wave at you, this is a car that stands out from the crowd and makes people happy.
