This 1959 Porsche 356A has just come to the end of an 8 year restoration by myself which has been documented on the

This matching numbers car has her original 1600cc engine 73785 and original transmission 27099.
She has been finished in her original (single pack cellulose paint) Ruby Red / 5702.
Although the car is complete the red interior that came with the car has not been re-installed, allowing the next owner to put it back to original tan.
This is not a concours car, but a strong, honest restoration retaining as many original parts as possible.
The car will need re-commissioning as it has not been started up or driven since restoration.
This original Right Hand Drive 356A was delivered to Lindsay Motors, Johannesburg, South Africa, it was purchased by a ‘Micheal Hayes’ who purchased it in 1959.
Micheal Peter Hayes was quite a pop star in South Africa and promoted himself under the stage name of Mickie Most. He had several hits before returning to the UK and bringing his 356A with him.
It arrived into Southampton docks in 1962 and Mickie drove the car until 1965 when he sold it to AFN Isleworth.
During this period he released a single “That’s alright” featuring a photograph of Mickie in 68 BTR her new UK registration number on the cover.
From an original photo we can see that the original interior was tan.
Mickie turned his attention from singing to producing such bands as The Animals and Herman’s Hermits, he owned many Porsches until his death in 2003
The following is a list of previous owners from the original buff UK registration papers:
Michael Peter Hayes (Mickie Most), Kenton, Middlesex. 1962-1965
A. F. N. Limited Isleworth, Middlesex. 1965
George Edward Tyson, Birkenhead, Cheshire 1965-1967
Stanley Powell, Nr. Warrington Lancashire 1967-1970
Then there is a gap in her ownership until Glenn Romaine of Ruthin Wales, purchased her in 1986 and drove her right up to her purchase by myself in 2015.
