Rover 75, 2. 5 V6 auto, Connoisseur SE Tourer finished in Monogram Spectre (IAA).
This car was made by MG Rover in late 2002 and served as a management car until the demise of MG Rover in 2005. The car was then purchased by AE Wilcox and sold as a used car to it’s long term owner in late 2006 having only covered 10, 000 miles.
The second owner of the car had it annually serviced and MOT’d at AE Wilcox up until it was traded back to the dealer in late 2023. Any other maintenance the car needed was carried out by them with all the receipts in the service folder; detailing it’s almost full history. Sadly there is no MGR history as this was lost during the collapse of MGR. The car has had the following services carried out at;

• 48, 487 miles on 01/ 12/ 2014.
• 52, 637 miles on 02/ 12/ 2015 (including auto gearbox oil).
• 56, 245 miles on 02/ 12/ 2016.
• 59, 370 miles on 08/ 12/ 2017.
• 62, 537 miles on 10/ 12/ 2018.
• 64, 753 miles on 11/ 12/ 2019.
• 66, 280 miles, MOT only on 08/ 12/ 2020.
• 70, 442 miles on 10/ 12/ 2021.
• 74, 606 miles on 07/ 12/ 2022.
• 81, 479 miles on 24/ 02/ 2024 (included timing belts, tensioners, water pump, spark plugs, air filter, pollen filter, auto gearbox oil).
I purchased the vehicle in late 2023 from AE Wilcox. On return of the car, it’s had a major deep clean. The body has had a full correction detail, machine polish and wax. The interior has been cleaned thoroughly, the leather seats being treated with Gliptone leather products to bring back the matt finish. All the electrical items work, including the optional navigation and cruise control.
Being a Connoisseur SE, the vehicle is fitted with Sat nav, cruise control, heated cream leather seats, which are electrically adjustable with drivers memory capability.
The age related rusty engine bay nuts and fixings have been replaced with genuine MGR replacements. The main costly maintenance items have been carried out in my ownership. The timing belts, thermostat housing and gearbox oil have all been done, along with all the other service items and known faults. (Plenum drains for example).
The car comes with two keys (new key case fobs fitted), a full history folder detailing all of the maintenance and the original service book with all the corresponding stamps. I’ve not seen another MG Rover car with this much history in all my years collecting them.
There are a few areas on the vehicle that will require attention in the future. The OSR sill is starting to show signs of corrosion (common on 75’s/ ZT’s and there’s plenty of repair sections for these), but is currently surface rust and the inner sill is fine. The bottom of the wings have a few blisters also.
There are a few small marks on the bumpers as to be expected for a 22 year old car, but overall the bodywork is in fantastic condition.
This is the only Spectre Rover 75 tourer on UK roads. There was a total of six 75 Spectre Tourers made. Three went to Germany and three for the UK market. The other two UK cars are confirmed scrapped. This is the last remaining example and the only example out of the six that was a 2. 5 V6, Conni SE with navigation.
Overall this is a well looked after and maintained Rover 75 tourer with a near enough complete history that can be enjoyed straight away by it’s next owner.
