Description
A 1993 Rover 216 GTi (SOHC) 3 Door hatch in Flame Red
This is the one with Honda Single Over Head Cam and no power steering
Body:
Excellent body and paint. No rust. Superb paint-work in Flame Red which really shines beautifully. There are two very minor blemishes which in no way detract from how good this car looks. There is a very slight touched in scar on rear bumper - does not show on photos and a very small stone chip next to rear spoiler.
Manual tilt and turn sunroof. Fully working – no leaks
Very clean engine bay
Good tyres with alloys – plastic centre caps have been replaced as the old ones had discoloured
.
Original Hartwell Clark dealer sticker in rear window
Mechanics:
Recent service and MOT. Pass with no advisories. Excellent mechanical condition
Interior:
The interior is in very good clean shape.
Original Rover Radio-Cassette with radio code
The boot is clean and tidy.
One key with plug-in security card (common 1980’s after-market security upgrade – can easily be removed if required, I have never bothered)
Summary:
The car passed her MOT on 28th February 2024 valid until 6th March 2025
Original document pack Radio Code Card
Only 2 previous owners but showing 3 keepers on registration document. Registered on 24/ 05/ 1993 to Rover Dealer Hartwell-Clark and then to its first owner on 25/ 05/ 1993. First owner kept the car until 2018, when it was sold to an enthusiast who sold it on to me in 2019
On the road the drives very well. Engine pulls well with plenty of acceleration. Everything functions as it should. Quite well known on the Rover scene in my ownership – been to quite a few Rover shows, been on the Rover Sports Regsiter stand at the NEC in 2021. This is a very good example of the desirable 3 door body in the right colour and will hold its own at any show or gathering.
£3, 895 ono
The car is located near Market Rasen, Lincolnshire .
