Very regretfully due to reasons beyond my control I am selling my recently bought 1999 Saab 93 Viggen convertible with the 2, 3 turbo petrol engine which I had been looking forward to giving some TLC to and then enjoying this summer and many more.
I bought this car last September and drove it 400 miles home with it driving better each mile, it has done very little miles in the last few years so it benefited from that drive.
Apart from that run I have done nothing with the car, I put it on SORN until now, I have just taken it off SORN so that I can take it out and get some decent photos taken. As Saab people will know there weren’t many Viggens built and only about 350 came to the UK in the 3 years of production.
This one was taken to Australia by a previous owner when he emigrated and it was there for 8 years until he brought it back with him so he was obviously very attached to the car.
This is Black with the desirable Black and Flame Ochre interior and has 141. 5K on the clock. The condition is very good with just a couple of rust bubbles on the front right hand of the bonnet. The interior is also very good with no blemishes on the leather work.
The alloys have some kerb rash on 3 of them and the Kumho tyres have plenty of tread on all 4. The MOT is due for renewal in August. The car comes with 2 key fobs with remote.
There is some history up to the second last owner but unfortunately the previous owner had mislaid everything from the last few years that he owned it.
My intentions were to get the bonnet and wheels done and a full service but I’m afraid that will have to be down to the new owner now. All the filters for the service are here and included in the price.
The hood is in excellent condition as it was renewed about five years ago and is black canvas.
The price that I am looking for is £6250. I could do with a quick sale so I am open to sensible offers.
Hopefully this will go a Saab club member or enthusiast who will appreciate it as much as I was going to do.
The car is located in Oban in Argyll with decent rail and bus connections with Glasgow which is two and a half hours away by road.
