Owned 28 years. I am 3rd owner. This iss the only former hand-controlled Moke ever done in the world, that I know of. Not hand controled anymore. Previous owner was a parapalegic. Owned, and initially modified for Autocross racing and enjoyment. This 1966 Austin Moke was originally delivered to, and lived at Martha’s Vineyard until 1982. I have documents, letters, pics from original owner to verify provenance. Been in Colorado and primarily garaged since 1982. Floorboards were replaced in 1983. I purchased the Moke in 1996 from my friend, the previous owner, after he retired. The 850cc is long gone, and now retains an NOS new 1300 Innocenti S A+ engine installed 40 years ago. Has the pre-verto clutch. I have meticulously maintained the engine, drivetrain, and clutch. The 940 head has been ported, milled to Stage 2 specs. I upgraded front twin leadings shoe front brakes to 7. 5 inch Cooper S disks. Moke has vintage Hi-Low suspension. Meaning, you use a T-handle to adjust. Front suspension is fully Heim jointed and adjustable. I installed aftermarket gauges. The Moke was originally left-hand drive, though an incident with a pothole caused a steering rack replacement. So what the heck, made it right hand drive. Moke was repainted like 35 years ago in a Forest Green Metallic. Paint decent, mismatches in places from being touched-up, but now has lots of patina. My Moke was never a garage queen. The Moke never complains, and is always ready to go on an adventure. Still quick, and highway speeds are not a problem, except for a super strong headwind. Odometer quit at 14, 999. New engine has approximately 25, 000 miles. So much more history to tell, when you ask.. More photos available upon request. Ask your questions, I have all the answers.
