1966 Austin Healey 3000 Mark 3

A very rare and incredibly original example of this most desirable, final-series BJ8 model. Its Heritage Certificate confirms its manufacture on 24th June 1966 and despatch to SIDA-Milan a month later, on 21st July. One of only 234 Left-Hand-Drive, European-specification example delivered in 1966.

The car remains to its original specification - with wire wheels, overdrive, heater, adjustable steering column, laminated windscreen, road-speed tyres, a speedometer in kilometres and a centrigrade thermometer.

This car has covered on 75, 000 kilometres and only 5, 000 kilometres in my over forty years of ownership. It has been carefully garaged and maintained all its life which explains the remarkable state of preservation of its bodywork. The car had only one owner prior to 1974 - when it was then bought by a family member - I am therefore only the third registered owner.

The car is unusual in being truly original and unmolested - in that it retains its factory chassis and panels - thus the panel-fits remain to factory-correct standard. I had the car bare-metal repainted in its original Healey-blue metallic and chose to add the Old English Ivory side panels to achieve the look I desired. The car could easily be returned to all Healey-blue if desired. I also had a photographic record of the re-painting process which confirms the car's original and rust-free body-work and chassis - this must be one of the few Austin-Healeys that have not required body- and chassis-restoration.

Although most of the interior (seats, carpets, door-panels, etc) remains original, I have had the wooden dashboard professionally refurbished and new door- and screen-seals fitted and the car retains its factory hood.
