For Sale is a 1938 Austin 7 Ruby mk2. This car has had a substantial amount of mechanical work done two it over the past few years making it a very reliable little run around. The car sits very happily at 35-40. The rear brake shoes have been replaced and all brakes adjusted so stopping is as good as it gets. The car doesn’t consume water or oil other than a slight leak from the tappet cover which I’m sure could easily be rectified. The car has had regular dry weather use and has been on some long runs with no issues. The paint and interior is showing its age and not perfect however as can be seen from the pictures it is very presentable.

Dynamo overhauled with new bearings and brushes

New wheel bearings all round. 4 on the from and two on the rear

Starter overhauled with new brushes

New ht leads

Many new gaskets on the engine

Rear brakes re shoed and brakes adjusted. Stops on a dime!

Track rod rebushed and new pins.

The diff has been overhauled this winter with new oil seals inner and outer Also new spring shafts and bushes. The slientbloc bush has also been replaced.

All three Shock absorbers have been painted, new brass and fibre friction discs, new rubber bushes, and new springs


All rear lights are leds making it much safer in the dark

All 4 drums have been fitted with new brake cable return springs

The rear axle has new brake shoes. The front has much more life left.

All the dials work as they should. Also fitted is a temperature gauge giving a good indication when the engine is up to temp.

New spark plugs recently fitted as of a few weeks ago.

New fan belt

Windscreen wiper motor overhauled and new rubber wiper fitted

The oil in the engine, gear box and diff has been replaced bi annually. The antifreeze has been replaced once a year.

The headlining and sliding roof are in very good condition and the car still has its original interior.

Both semifores have been cleaned and oiled. Working well.

Some new woodwork around the roof of the car. Purchased from Martin Prior

New rubber seals around the bonnet. and new draught excludes fitted around the doors.

New rubber on the running boards.

New piping around the front wings.

New speedo cable.

Fuel pump has had a new service kit including gaskets, valves and diaphragm.
