As many enthusiasts will already be familiar with, the Austin-Healey Sprite is one of the most popular classic sports roadsters to date featuring the rather distinctively placed front headlights, which came to it be affectionally know as the 'Frogeye'.
Frogeye variants are sought for their charming and characterful appearance and this particular car has probably what is is considered top have the best colour combination of Old English White and a red interior.
This particular example has been previously restored and well maintained over the years, helping not stand out head and shoulders above plenty of other cars in today's market and warrants an early inspection.
As mentioned, this example has been treated to plenty of attention with some £11, 000 spent on restoration work over the years. Key work includes a new body shell with steel bonnet and a bare metal respray in 2020.
The refurbished red vinyl seats and matching carpets are in excellent condition.
The tonneau, soft top and side screens are also present.
The Frogeye is a roadster designed with simple principles in mind. It was aimed at the everyday consumer with attention aimed more towards providing a fun driving experience over needless luxuries. As a result, you will find the interior of the vehicle rather minimal and purpose built, but certainly not without is appealing charm.
All instruments and controls are in working order and the interior shows no visible signs of wear.
An original 60's Les Weston style 3 spoke steering wheel os fitted which adds to its charm.
Having covered very few miles since its respray, the exterior show only incredibly minor defects only noticeable upon very close inspection and a glimpse under the wheel arches will reveal just how few miles the vehicle has covered.
It has an original front bumper, which was a factory fitted option, and all of the chrome work is in excellent condition.
Sitting atop the correct period steel wheels with Austin-Healy hubcaps, the tyres are in excellent condition having only covered a few miles.
The engine has covered few miles since its re-build, remains cool and features the SU carburettors with their original pancake filters. The gearbox is smooth with no unwanted noise.
