I have for sale my 1980 (V) MG Midget 1500 Anniversary Edition finished in Gloss Black, on black on black. The Anniversary Edition was produced by MG to celebrate the end of the very successful Midget line and was limited to just 500 cars. My car is numbered just 168 before the last of those 500 cars. All the Midget Anniversary cars were only produced in Gloss Black, on black on black and are now very collectible and desirable to own.
The car is completely to original spec. except for the addition of silver Minilite style alloy wheels and a Motolita steering wheel. The original steering wheel is available with the car as part of this sale. It also comes complete with the correct full tonneau cover with headrest pockets and also the correct half tonneau or hood cover as it’s called. There is also a modern digital radio and console and all the wiring within the car if you wish to go down that road with the car in car entertainment.
I purchased the car in April 2023 and have only done some 500 odd miles in it as time limitations prevail. It has always been garaged and runs as sweet as a nut with a lovely smooth gear change. It’s a pleasure to drive with the hood down or hood up. The hood looks to be original to the car and is in excellent condition.
I have a very large history file showing works done in the past, along with invoices and also a list of all the previous owners and Mot certificates etc. The Mot ran out last year and I didn’t bother too much about renewing the Mot as it has hardly been used and it is except from a Mot requirement anyway. This Midget is eligible for Historic Road Fund and also ULEZ Exempt which when added to the low cost of classic car insurance makes it a very affordable classic to own.
Vehicle History
The Midget is a great car to own and run. It is very positive on the road and sticks around corners just beautifully. It is a real head turner because of its colour scheme and it's rarity value. There are not many original anniversary edition 1500 Midgets around in this condition.
