This MGB GT is a really really impressive car. Registered 1 August 1969 and just recently emerged from a very comprehensive reconditioning process. Presenting so beautifully in lovely and sought after Old English White, its chrome work is exceptional and gleams like a mirror. The interior is lovely deep red leather and the photos barely do justice to the lovely condition and perfect patina. There’s absolutely no rust and the paintwork is outstanding again I only wish the images could truly reflect that. I had to do an extended test drive in this beauty and I’m so very glad I did. Let me take you through the experience. Approaching the car I was impressed by the way the panels line up and the doors open nicely like only well cared for and lubricated door handles do and you slip sweetly into the comfortable seat. Turn the key and the car starts readily with only a little choke, 30 seconds later I pushed the choke in and the car idled nice and smooth. Blip the throttle and the engine revs easily and depress the clutch which is actually quite light and the car slides nicely into 1st gear. Drop the clutch and the car rolls forward really really smoothly. The gearbox is an absolute delight by the way! It’s precise and feels just right, moving through the gears gives a very satisfying exhaust note from the beautiful running engine and the overdrive on 3rd and 4th gears is most welcome when cruising at higher speeds. There is not a rattle nor a knock and the suspension feels smooth and tight. I had a little fast road fun for 25 miles and the car turns in very smartly indeed and the brakes are smooth and perform well from higher speeds as well as lower and it pulls up true and straight. Honestly this car is a joy to drive and I really don’t think that there are many more visceral pleasures than a proper traditional old English sports car and a quiet A road. It’s an excellent driving experience. The period wire wheels look superb and the fresh Dunlop tyres are almost brand new. Under the bonnet is clean and obviously well maintained like the rest of the car. This car is highly recommended for summer fun and if you keep it as well as the previous owner has then you will likely be financially rewarded in the future too. We have a huge great history file with the all important MOT history, and just check it out online ALX531H, the last MOT had absolutely no advisories whatsoever! I told you it was really impressive. It’s showing 18, 598 miles but that must be 118598. There was a fresh unleaded ready engine fitted only 9000 miles ago too. Oh and what about this for a Mic Drop moment, only 3 owners from new and the 2nd owner had it for over 40 years!!! Give me a ring for a friendly chat and we can discuss your finance requirements and possible part exchange. Thanks for reading, David
