First registered 1973 she has undergone two restorations one in 1996 at a cost of 11, 099. 57 after the owner had purchased the van for £1, 400 and more recently the van underwent a bare metal restoration at Jacks, who are a VW specialist based in Notting-Hill in 2016 at a cost of nearly £24, 000 before we acquired "Tilly" in March 2021 for family summer adventures. So we have owned Tilly for over three years, but now that the kids are that little bit older and bigger the time has come to sell up and let a new owner have new adventures.

We have a whole file of paperwork stretching back to 1995 and the V5 doc states the van has had 19 previous owners. The paperwork that came with the Tilly gives details of the last eight owers and what they spent on her and when they owned her - (one of the owners includes TLO Film Services), with a number of MOT test certificates dating back to 1995 when Mr Putley sold the van to Mr Warner "as seen" for £1, 400 on the 22. 7. 95, who then went on to spend £11, 099 restoring the van - details of that restoration are summarised in the invoices we have from that date and ownership.

The last MOT the millage stated was 60, 548 as of the 6. 7. 2023, but it is now close 62, 000 miles.

The previous owner Mr Edghill having purchased the van in 2014 for close to £7, 000 set about restoring the van and the following invoices relate to the works he commissioned:
04. 3. 2015 - £2, 327. 97 - New Bunk Beds, new seat belts back and front, New power Steering and other minor works. happy to share the invoice.
24. 7. 2015 - £6, 903. 60 - Remove engine, strip down clean and rebuild. Labour was 32 hrs and cost £2, 304 the rest of the cost was parts. again we have the invoice
13. 5. 2016 - £14, 410 +VAT- Remove all parts from vehicle, cut out rusty panels, front panel, front wheel arches offside and nearside, rear wheel arches, offside and nearside, rear inner and outer back panel, new doors, S/ H tail gate - spray van inside and out £10, 000 - Extras : new headlining, new rock and roll bed, 13 piece panel kit in pearl £1, 650 + VAT- cut and fit new roof £780 + VAT- new buddy seat and 7 cushion set all covered in pearl white, new radio £1, 980+ VAT. We have invoice and pictures of the van before the works and during the works - let me know if you want to see them.
Total cost of restoration from 2015/ 16 : £23, 641. 56 total including van just over £30, 000

31. 7. 2020 - £1, 592. 58 - invoice details other works completed by Mr Edghill. again we have invoice.

Tilly is a special van not only as the children have enjoyed various adventures to the south cost but also having contacted TLO Film Services after we purchased the van to see what films or TV the van had featured in - we were subsequently approached by TLO who asked if they could use Tilly in the BBC drama series "The Split" about a family of lawyers who deal with divorce - Tilly is featured in Series 3, episodes 4 & 5 - cut and paste the below link to see Tilly in action in the trailer for the TV series as Nicola Walker and Stephen Mangan are filmed in Tilly whilst Deborah Findlay as Ruth is filmed dancing in front of Tilly when she is proposed to by Ronnie (Ian McElhinney).
