1979 Triumph Dolomite 1500 SE
This is my lovely RUST FREE, 1979 Dolomite 1500 SE (with Overdrive) of which only 2000 were ever produced. It is “ZIEBART” protected throughout plus Lanoguarded underneath, so there is NO RUST! Which is unusual for these cars. The car has an MOT with no advisories, MOT. It is recently renovated, so it's ready to drive away and enjoy. The car is registered Historic so there is no road tax to pay, and MOT is not essential (but I like them done)
Happy to consider realistic offers
If you are looking to join in and enjoy the open road with other like minded classic car friends this could just be the car for you.
Historically the car had been fully renovated to a high standard. The work started long before it got to me. However, after a prolonged period of dormant dry storage, it has now been fully recommissioned including removal of the mouse nests! It also has a couple of modern accessories to help in current traffic, so it is ready for long distance tours.
EXTERIOR
NO RUST. Paint is very good. Glass & Lights are all good and working. Chrome is very presentable.
INTERIOR
Generally good condition for a car 44yrs old.
UNDERSIDE
Clean & tidy. No signs of concern to be found. Nothing hidden under heavy under-seal.
MECHANICS
The car is fully serviced and ready to enjoy. It starts on the button, drives & stops as it should.
THIS CAR
The Dolomite was designed primarily as a family car, and it still is! The fabulous thing about this car is it is big & strong enough to take the whole family out to the seaside for the day/ weekend.
The BOOT is big enough for the shopping or good sized suitcases
The 1500 TWIN CARB ENGINE pulls well even with driver and 3 passengers.
The STEERING is surprisingly light and the VISION is virtually 360' .
The SEATS have been fully renovated and are surprisingly comfy (even my wife says so!).
The DOORS are big enough to make entry and exiting really easy (even with my gammy knee!).
The OVERDRIVE allows the car to easily keep up with modern traffic and remain economical.
HISTORY
The car comes with a history pack, including a CD with previous renovation photos and documents.
ABOUT ME: I am a retired engineer who loves to renovate classic cars. It is my hobby, not a business. This lovely Dolomite is my 16th project. I bring them up to a very presentable, safe & highly usable state. My cars are ready for the open road & long distance touring. While MOT’s are not necessary I always have them done so the history can be maintained.
Why sell it? I simply have too many cars & need the room for my next project.
Classic motoring is one of the most fun activities you can do if you love the countryside. It gets you to places and people who make you smile while your car does the same to them. This car will do that in buckets. Be aware it is a classic and older car, which like all requires fettling to keep it going and on the road. Enjoy.
