Here is my 1983 Jaguar XJS V12 HE, for sale
As you can see its lovely and shiny red paintwork dazzles in the sun with excellent black leather interior to match. Perfect combination, which at the time of the pictures taken she drew admiring glances and comments.
There are some scratches and a slight colour mismatch on the rear buttresses so a refresh of the paintwork would benefit her . As for now it wouldn’t look out of place at a car show, especially compared to some of the XJS currently on the road that I’ve seen.
I have completed a lot of work on this myself , here are the items I have done:
1. Both cylinder heads reconditioned
2. Stripped the IRS:
a. refurbed the rear brake callipers with new seals including handbrake pads and new cunifer brake pipes.
b. New brake pads and disks.
c. New diff oil with LSD additive
d. Replaced V-mounts
e. New radius arm bushes
f. New inner UJS.
g. Painted
3. Serviced engine:
a. New plugs
b. Oils and filters including fuel filter.
c. Distributor cap & rotor arm
d. Plug leads
e. Coolant
f. There are number of new switches and sensors. Cannot remember what but it does include the oil pressure switch.
4. Brake fluid changed.
5. Changed the front upper suspension bushes for Polybush. (lower ones supplied)
6. Fuel injector rail refurbished with E10 compliant hoses and filters
7. New front oil pipes.
The car will come with a full MOT then I will register as a historic vehicle and then she will be Tax & test exempt. A car adviser who works in TV and car magazines said these are the next big investment and its priced accordingly.
