Austin Healey 3000 MK 1 BT7 4 speed with overdrive plus Hardtop finished in original factory Florida Green and Old English White both mechanics and bodywork in exceptional restored condition.
Imported from the US on 2016 and for the next 5 years underwent a fully documented complete strip and rebuild, maintaining the original engine, gearbox, drive train, chassis and the majority of main body panels as very little rust was present. A host of new parts were used as part of the rebuild including big and and main engine bearings, ignition system fuel system, wiring loom, brake lines and cylinders, radiator, exhaust, powder coated wire wheels and correct period tyres..
Cosmetically the chassis was fully stripped and powder coated and bodywork finished in two pack Florida Green (to match original factory spec) with the addition of Old English White side flashes and hardtop. Interior completely reupholstered in quality grey vinyl.
Having acquired the car in April 2022, there have been further improvements including an extensive overhaul of the gearbox, clutch and replacement overdrive unit carried out by Healey specialists Hardy Engineering. They also completely replaced the front suspension and brakes all in 2023. A photo record of allk this work is available on request.
During these 7 years over £25K has been spent on these renovations and improvements including nearly £10K in tha past 18 months.
Along with the matching relined hardtop with storage and new tonneau cover frame the car comes with Heritage Certificate indicating current matching numbers, a complete detailed record of expenditure, supporting invoices, workshop manual and fitted dust cover. A documented record of a showbiz connection in Florida adds to this car's fascinating history.
