This was built in 1972 as a Rickman Zundapp 125 cc scrambler/ moto crosser.
In 1979, it was registered for road use and some time later, fitted with a Honda XL185 single cylinder four stroke engine with full lighting, horn and stoplight
I bought it from a friend of mine on 12 August 2017 and rebuilt it, but keeping it in the style that my friend had it.
The engine was left untouched except for a carb clean and cosmetics, but the original nickel on the frame was very poor, so was blasted and powder coated silver along with some cycle parts.
The wheels were stripped, hubs polished, and then built with stainless spokes and alloy rims with new linings.
Forks were assembled with new seals and dust gaiters.
New sprockets and chain.
Nearly all fasteners are either stainless, or where not available, nickel plated.
The handlebars and rear shock absorber shrouds are stainless.
A centre stand was designed and made whereby the bike is perfectly balanced so either wheel can be removed without chocking the bike.
The tank is a steel ex-police item, so no ethanol worries.
There is also a quick-release Craven pannier so you can go away for a weekend, or out for the day with extra fuel and Thermos
Please look at the pictures closely.
Thank you.
I think it's a pretty bike, you'll not park up alongside another the same.
