I acquired this vehicle in 2010 as a 'Barn Find'. In 2010/ 11, an extensive renovation programme commenced. This involved some re-building at the rear end/ boot area, a full rub down, and a complete professional re-paint. Bitumen was applied to the chassis and under panels.
Apparently, during the great storm of 1987, a tree fell near the vehicle and some branches marked some panels. The Insurance company at the time must have been tightening up and only permitted the re-spaying of the affected panels, which included part of the roof. It must have been a particularly poor job as, over the time, the applied paint cracked quite badly. Hence my overall re-paint, carried out by a well-renowned coach painter.
Also in 2010 the chrome work was re done by a local professional company. Wheel trims, Bumpers, fenders, Radiator Grille etc. The only Item not done was the rear central boot trim, as it is aluminium and was beyond chroming, so was left and cleaned up, but you can hardly tell.
New tyres were fitted all round, and the inboard brakes were removed and fully overhauled. The front brakes were dealt with at the same time.
The engine compartment is as original and undisturbed. The items that have been looked at are the plug leads and spark plugs.
The oil has been regularly changed and the engine runs as smooth as the day it was built. The twin SU Carburettors have had a regular clean/ service and the jets replaced. The gearbox is one of those that you don't notice change gear, extremely smooth and reliable.
The interior has new carpets throughout, including the boot area. The seat leather is very good for its age, with the driver's seat being the worst, obviously. The seat back of same is in need of some attention, as are the door cards. It would appear that they were renovated at some point, maybe by the garage that did the re-paint job in 1987 !, and were a pretty poor affair. The pillars ideally need re-trimming, but for her age acceptable. The headlining droops and requires some work.
After having the bodywork done, I was going to concentrate on the interior and send away for a professional job, but due to a prolonged spate of ill health I am no longer in a position to carry out any more work. I would sooner she passed to an owner who could input more TLC and complete this work
This would result in an exceptional specimen of it's era and would make some-one else as proud as I have been owning her.
The price reflects the additional work required. Open to sensible offers

This era of vehicle were the pinnacle of 'British engineering at it's best'. This Daimler is no exception, with all the Daimler add ons, you really do feel quality when driving about. Effortless steering, smooth gear changes, suspension to die for, and of course power under the bonnet to match. (surprisingly, very economic on fuel). This model has electric windows all round. No Air Con I'm afraid !
Certainly an eye catcher at several car club meetings that I have attended. Rows of Double 6's, but no 4 door Daimlers !
