Description
Hi there! Your are looking at a 1951 Nash Ambassador Custom 4 door sedan. Stored since 2018 but used regularly before that. Vehicle is running, driving and stopping but would recommend a thorough service/ repair before being put into use due to laying idle for 6 years.
Mechanically sound with good oil pressure, new battery and starter motor fitted to get her running but water pump needs attention. Gearbox changes through all gears. Brakes work but would need attention as pulling to right. only other faults currently known are non working fuel gauge, radio and washers, otherwise all good. Obviously there may be other items that need attention but I've been as honest as I can and listed what I've found.
Body and paintwork is in great condition, having been professionally refinished about ten years ago, with the odd mark/ defect in accordance with age and use. Chromework is also fine, some minor flaking/ tarnishing to be found, again in accordance, etc.
Interior is original apart from headlining replacement which was never finished due to health reasons. Drivers seat/ door trim worn but all perfectly respectable for being 73 years old!Estate sale. This car used to belong to my father who imported the vehicle from the USA from it's original owner in 1994 and has been in the family ever since. The car was renovated in 1994/ 5 and proudly used and shown at various meetings over the next few years with rolling repairs and finally a professional respray c. 2015. I have all the paperwork dating back to 1994 including original import papers, original 'pink slip' or title, correspondence between the original owner and my father and much, much more! The original handbook is present, as is the genuine workshop manual, parts list and much more.
The vehicle was purchased from it's 81 year old (second) owner in Hopewell New Jersey in 1994, I have original letters from the owner and my father as well as photo's of the car in it's home surroundings. There are many photo's of the car attending shows on the internet, my dad really enjoyed owning and driving this car. Unfortunately I am not in a position to provide the love, time (and space!) this car needs for her next chapter in life but I hope the next owner will enjoy her as much as my dad did.
