This excellent condition 1996 N-reg Audi Cabriolet 2. 6 has had only three owners from new. First owner for three years, second owner for 18 years, and I have been the proud owner for the past 7 years. Presented in Merlin Purple with Charcoal Mohair power operated hood. Powered by the silky smooth 2. 6 V6 engine, 5 speed manual gearbox, power assisted steering and ABS brakes.
Audi factory options and spec includes , Sports Chassis , Sports Suspension , 15inch 10 spoke original alloy wheels, which were fully refurbished last year, Sports Seats, height adjustable front seats, Sundym glass, illuminated vanity mirrors, elec adjustable door mirrors, Burr walnut facia and door inserts. Also includes the (often missing!) original Audi Wind Deflector.
This Cabriolet has full service history from new to verify the genuine mileage of 120k (22 service stamps in the original service book) Comes complete with original leather-bound Audi handbook pack. This is an excellent condition cabriolet that drives fantastically well. By the mid 1990s, Audi had worked out how to build cars of fantastic quality, but hadn't yet got round to loading them with fancy electronics that simply provide extra things to go wrong!
Brand new MOT, until May 2025. As well as full service history, supplied a with a huge pile of receipts for maintenance done over the years, plus every MOT certificate going back to the first one in 1999.
Like any car of this age, there are a few jobs to do each year to maintain them in good condition. If I were keeping the car, my list this year would be: replacement rear window (they go milky over time, but can be changed by zipping out the old one, and zipping in a replacement), replace/ repair a small piece of damaged exterior trim near front offside wheel, and repair the radio, which is currently not working.
I have really enjoyed owning the Audi over the years, and I'm sure it has many more years of pleasure to give its new owner. The only reason for sale is that I currently do not have the space to store it, or the time to enjoy driving it. So this is a reluctant sale, of an appreciating classic, that is all ready to go for a fun summer in 2024.
