My beautiful TR6 is for sale, matching numbers CP 150BHP model, with overdrive. It's a properly sorted car, wanting for nothing, meticulously maintained and with a box file full of history.
As a driver it is very rewarding, with taut suspension, smooth drivetrain, quiet and powerful engine and nicely working overdrive. Acceleration is as it should be, and I have no hesitation driving long distances, it's mechanically very strong throughout.
It had a full restoration between 1989 & 1994, body repaired with new panels and resprayed. The engine, gearbox and overdrive were all rebuilt at around 75000 miles, and the interior renewed.
Much work has been done since, including brake pipes, hoses, rebuilt calipers, rear wheel cylinders, discs. Shock absorbers, fuel injection metering unit, radiator & hoses, overdrive solenoid. And in the past two years - brake master cylinder & servo, clutch master & slave cylinders, drop links, brake pads & shoes, driveshaft and battery.
The fuel injection has been set up and is running nicely. Head has been off, inspected, exhaust valve seats and valves previously replaced.
The body and chassis is very good. The paint still looks good 30 years on, a few blemishes with age but not detracting from a very smart finish. Wheels are newly powder coated, bumpers stainless steel, hood like new. The interior is very smart, seats excellent, door cards and carpets good, dash has nice patina. Altogether a lovely place to be.
