Description
For sale is what has been a trusted commuter and winter weather beater- this 2004 Audi A4 1. 8T Quattro Saloon.
* Update*
☆This car is safe to drive in a Low Emission Zone ☆
I've owned it since 2020 and haven't done a great lot of miles as I work locally. I've made sure it has got whatever it needed to keep it on the road and preventative work mechanically.
In my ownership, I have fitted a new alternator, battery, stainless steel exhaust, radio amplifier in the rear, sorted out a wiring problem with driver's tail light, front window regulators, every sensor that you could imagine that could throw the engine light- think two on exhaust, one at the sump, one on the maf, one near the turbo and also a brake pedal sensor too. I have also had the front suspension replaced last year.
I was informed that when I bought the car it had the top end of the engine overhauled, a tt 220 turbo fitted and a new flywheel and clutch but I have no proof of this- might benefit with a remap and the newer tfsi coils- I always thought it was fine for how I drive.
The wheels were refurbished when I got it and the car had been resprayed but the previous owner had reversed into bollards at work. As it was a commuter for myself, I just covered it up with stickers and you'd never have known. They have since been removed and the whole car's tinwork could do with a refresh if keeping her right. I have treated the worst of the rusty patches and primed and painted them- however the front wheel arches are starting to rust and the front bumper lower lip has a crack from the snow.
I had the oil and filters changed every year and last year I spent well over £1. 5k at M. O. T time. I believe the only thing she needs for next mot is rear bushes, which will come with the car. A few months ago I had a front driver's abs sensor replaced too.
I also upgraded the headlights to Phillips Ultinon and Osram Leds- massive improvement from standard!
The tyres that are on are Kuhmo all weathers which can be a bit noisey. They still have plenty of tread left. I did have summer wheels but I sold them.
Always ran on super unleaded or v power and never fuelled at a supermarket.
I was hit by another driver in a major road accident last year when I had this one in the garage and I find it too low for me now which is why I'm reluctantly selling her. With this car you'll feel that early 2000s vibe, good well made interior, a cassette player, a cd player, fine easy to see dash and that has red lcd that doesn't make your eyes tired. The car isn't a pocket rocket or barnstorming barge, more like a good sized back road limpet- plenty of traction and mechanical grip. The close ratio gearbox makes it lovely for going through town and lower speeds!
