Here for sale is my 1989 BMW E34 530i se manual M30B30 engine (6 cylinder). Cirrus blue metallic over grey upholstery.
The car has 83000miles with good service history, the past 4years of my ownership has full service history regardless of mileage covered and its walked through mots.
I bought this car as a project to invest time and money to create a timewarp example of a BMW from its iconic era. I searched for a while keeping my options only to the M30 silky smooth melodious engines and I couldn't leave this 3. 0 manual example when it came up for sale. The manual gearbox in my opinion is an absolute must to have the best of both, the autos are very sluggish and not fun.
Ive owned the car for 4 years and since ive had it, an extensive amount of work has been done to fix issues aswel as upgrade parts to subtly improve the drive. Within the last 4yrs/ 2000miles of my ownership, the following has been done,
New brake lines from abs to all corners
New discs and pads all around
Mts technik/ eibach coilovers
M5 anti roll bars
All outer arms and bushes replaced or upgraded on all 4 corners
Z3 short shifter with new shifter bushings
17x8 style 32 from an e39 with the correct spigot rings front and back with Goodyear eagle f1 225 front and 235 rear
Front calipers rebuilt
Tracking was done after the suspension was completed
Engine is completely stock and unopened bar an upgraded radiator for easier cooling and a closed air intake
The car is serviced yearly to keep the M30 as clean and smooth as possible.
The bodywork is mostly original with 3 parts having been resprayed, the 2 front bumpers and passenger rear quarter had a repair. This was all done some time ago prior my ownership. The bodywork is 35yrs old so is in need of work if you want it in top condition and this was my next task to tackle once the car was mechanically sound and driving how I wanted it to. The rust that's visible on this car is the least I've seen from the other e34s for sale at the time of purchasing this, this was another reason I bought this car. The doors are showing little rust at the bottom edges, not coming up to the face of the doors yet which is very common on these. The bonnet has a patch of rust on the passenger side edge. The jacking points are showing signs of weakness but still very usable with maintenance and servicing.
Interior is very good for its age and very tidy. Dash is all intact, front seats are intact with no rips or tears or even obvious wear marks. Rear seats are even better except some sun fade at the tops and a small tear. Carpets and original mats are in very good condition.
I'm selling the car as another project has come up which I'd like to go for so I won't be able to give it anymore time and money unfortunately. I had a vision for this car and the next task was getting the bodywork to a really high standard but I'll let the next owner decide the next steps. I'd highly recommend viewing the car purely for its driving capability, the symphony and silky smooth engine paired with the manual gearbox and the upgraded subtle stiffness will make you take this car.
