I bought this to use as a runaround but I'm hardly using it. It's a really nice example and deserves to go to someone who will enjoy and appreciate it.
Spec includes a manual sunroof (functioning and watertight), a rev counter, power steering, a digital clock... and that's about your lot.
It has the 1389cc 8-valve engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox. Not quick by any stretch of the imagination, but keeps up with traffic and happy to sit at 70mph all day long.
The mileage is currently just shy of 40k, but I'm still using it occasionally so please assume it's already rolled over to 40k! It's MOT'd until October with no advisories.
The condition of the car is good. There's a small dent in the tailgate, another small dent on the nearside rear quarter panel, one on the offside rear door, a tiny speck of rust on the edge of the bonnet, and the wheel trims are a little scratched. I've photographed everything I've noticed. Possibly a couple of other minor imperfections I've overlooked, but it's very presentable for a 26-year-old car, well above average I would say. It also seems to be completely original inside and out, including the stereo and both supplying dealer number plates!
GOOD:
- Runs and drives great. Clutch, gearbox, brakes, tracking, etc., all good.
- Everything seems to work, albeit there's not really much to go wrong.
- It's only 1389cc so it's in the lower of the pre-2001 tax bands.
- Comes with 2 keys.
- No cracks or chips in the windscreen.
- Good tread on all 4 tyres.
- Because I'm generous, I will include a £3 cassette adapter.
BAD:
- The stereo often stays on when you remove the key, so you have to turn it off manually.
- Not ULEZ compliant.
- No mats at present. I ordered a set that didn't turn up. I'll try and sort this but please assume there are still no mats unless stated otherwise.
This has got to be one of the nicer Corsa Bs out there. It's a really genuine little car; very original and drives exactly as it should. I wouldn't hesitate to jump in it and drive anywhere in the country.
Perfect for someone who wants a cheap-to-run retro commuter.
Feel free to make an offer. The worst I can do is say no!
