Description
FOR SALE my lovely MG ZS 180 saloon with the extreme spoiler in solar red (more pictures to follow).
Following work completed in the last 12 months:
- c.£2k major service at MG specialist AJF Motor Engineers including brand new inlet manifold costing £1, 500
- New headliner
- New front door cards (not perfect, but better than the previous ones)
- New Hankook tyres all round
- Refurbished wheels in OEM sparkle silver carried out by Alloy Stars in Aylesbury. They remain in perfect condition.
- Refurbished wheels centres with brand new stickers sourced from Portugal
- Full set of external door handles fitted and all are working as they should
- Full paint correction and detail by Martin at Vivid Element in Haddenham, Bucks, including engine bay, who did a brilliant job:
It has had some paint in the past and carries a few age related marks and small areas of lacquer peel but polishes up really well. I cannot recommend Martin highly enough.
- Full underbody Lanoguard treatment carried out by Vivid Element at the same time as the detail
- New speakers, head unit (Bluetooth and digital radio included) and amp fitted by Unique Integrations in High Wycombe
- New battery with warranty

Some service stamps in the book:
- 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2012, 2023
Between 2012 and 2023 the car was owned by David Bowen the proprietor of Aeon Sportscars and maintained by him at his shop, which is the reason for the lack of paperwork over that same period. I have reached out to David and he has confirmed the following:
"I bought the car in Feb 2012, it was the 3rd 180 that I'd owned.
As you said I carried out all of the service work myself, it was serviced every 5k miles ish, I always used Castrol Edge engine oil. I fitted the oil catch tank to try and avoid the dreaded inlet manifold issues which seemed to work in my ownership. I also fitted the "sheddist" style clutch kit to get rid of the weak plastic OE clutch cylinders.
It had cambelt and water pump changed in 2013 by myself, and then again just prior to me selling it. Both times it had full Gates belt kit... in the last few years of my ownership it wasn't getting much use, which is why I sold it in the end, in the work prior to sale it had rear trailing arm bushes changed and also some underside treatment around the jacking points which are a known weak point for corrosion."
The reasons for sale are partly that I've lost access to the garage I used to rent and our other parking arrangements are sub-optimal, and we have a 15 month old which mens it just isn't getting used.
It's a rare car from another time that has been well looked after, had a lot of money spent on it and drives as it should. The engine is the star, is extremely smooth and sounds great. I prefer the way it drives and sounds to the ZT-T 260 I had a few years ago (itself a cool thing!) but I'm aware that's personal preference.
Test drives with proof of insurance only. If this advert is live it remains available, deposit required to secure the car.
Thanks for looking!
