1972 Mercury Cougar XR7. 351C-2V, 3 speed manual. This car sat idle in the States for 30+ years with a seized engine. I bought it from a friend as a project, imported it and got it back on the road again. Engine stripped and rebuilt with a load of new parts. New clutch, radiator, fuel tank and hoses, new brakes and brake lines all round, new shocks and bushings, new engine and gearbox mounts, new interior heater core. Refurbished Keystones with new tyres. UK headlight conversion. The paint is original so it’s not show condition, there are a number of scratches and chips and there’s an old repair that has crazing but it’s perfectly presentable as is. The body is rock solid. The only rust was under the battery tray which has been repaired. Great chrome. Really nice leather interior. Everything works on this car, even the AM radio. It did have dealer AC fitted but the interior unit had cracked pipes so I didn’t bother trying to repair it, but I still have all the parts to go with the car.
