ENFIELD ENSIGN 150.
( BIG PRICE REDUCTION, AT 72 I NEED A KNEE OP, SO HAVE BOUGHT A MODERN ENFIELD WITH BUTTON START. I HAVE LOWERED THE PRICE OF THIS ENSIGN BY £550 TO £1650, MAKING IT A SUPER VALUE SNIP FOR SUMMER. JUST RING THE NUMBER TO AGREE A VIEWING WITH ROBIN )
Quite rare, this was Enfield's answer to the BSA Bantam. With the notable difference of being 150cc. These are considered the better bike now. From April 1957. In very good order, looking resplendent in its light green colour. This lovely example of the rare Ensign model is in very good condition. I have a video of it being started, which I will try to add, it shows the lights and horn being used.
If it doesn't appear on this ad please request a copy and I'll email it .
There is a delightful written record of the former owner's project to retain its original registration number- which he successfully completed !
Along with a pictorial record of an earlier restoration.
There is a users guide, manual and the old buff log book along with its V5c, and a 1972 tax disc.
Most of the bike's consumables have been replaced with new ( period ) parts. or re-renewed
That includes the wheels, spokes and tyres, the chain and sprockets, the seat has been re-upholstered, the wiring has been replaced, and is in excellent order, all the electrics work.
See the photo's I have taken this week to enjoy its appearance.
Can be viewed in Barton on Humber ( DN18 area ). Ring Robin for a chat about the Ensign. £2, 200. Very rare and desirable small bike, Its a most lovable thing, and ideal for classic shows, Sunday runs or to go with the motorhome.
Will attract attention from those who recall them from back in the day, or want to know what model it is ..
Has a great paper record with it, and is ready for the Summer !
