Description
2004 MG ZS 180, 68, 820 miles, MOT August 24 (no advisories), cambelt and water pump done in 2020 (no receipt but was done by MG specialist Rob Holley who can testify). Very early registered and built MK2 saloon (May 2004).
The car had a new clutch and throttle body just before I purchased it in 2019 and since then I have done regular oil changes as well as fitting new, uprated VIS motors which made a world of difference to the performance. Brakes are Brembo discs and pads and work really well. It also has some mods including a stainless catback exhaust (quiet compared to a lot of systems), dark ice silicone intake hose with ram air filter and dark ice clutch kit. The only mechanical issue of note is a small weep from the N/ S diff seal.
The exterior is overall in very good condition with a great shine when clean due to being clay barred and machine polished. The car has next to no rust (has the infamous jacking point remade on the driver’s side in 2020 with the other side done July 2023 along with inner chassis legs treated to prevent and further tin worm). I believe the car has had a bit of paint work in the past which is starting to show as there is a small bit of lacquer peel around the Union Jack badges and fuel filler flap but other than that is really good. It also comes with carbon fibre mirror caps along with the standard silver.
The wheels have been refurbed in a BMW grey colour (not overly well but presentable) and are shod with matching Avon ZV7 tyres which are starting to get a little low now.
Interior is the blue axis and I have added the black oak dash kit and Rover 45 vents, re done the sagging headlining using an OEM colour and a nearly new gear knob to finish it off. Unfortunately like most, there is a bit of wear to the drivers bolster and a couple of the door cards have started to sag but nothing that can’t be fixed. The climate control system works as intended with a refurbed transistor pack (common problem) however the air con needs a re-gas. Also comes with a Sony Bluetooth stereo with uprated speakers throughout.
I’ve owned the car for 5 years and it has been superb only covering 9000 miles in my ownership. It has been to many MG events and always receives admiring glances anywhere it goes. Only reason for selling is to continue funding an MG race car!
