PROTOTYPE Rover 3500S 1970. A well-known car in the rover community and for sale only due to ill health.
Very good overall condition and drives superbly. Featured in Classic Cars magazine December 2022 edition - ‘is this the zenith of the Rover P6 3500S?’.
Factory fitted 5-speed LT77 gearbox, experimental V8 from when it was sold from the factory in 1975 with piper cam, Kenlow, boot mounted spare, restoration by MH Annable in 2012 with paperwork.
Recent work at Southern P6 including dealing with all surface rust in engine bay and underneath and NOS bumpers. Full service.
New rear brakes (discs and pads) and SD1 clutch in 2021. Wheel bearing in 2024. MOT expires May 2025.
Comes with spare original V8 engine, NOS ice alert and some Nada reflectors / lights. Also have a drivers seat in roughly the same condition as the one in it.
Bad points which I just have not got round to: reversing lights work intermittently (need to drop gearbox to access switch so haven’t), hazard lights don't work, drivers windscreen wiper just catching panel below windscreen (annoying as dealt with already and have touch up paint), drivers seat is worn but serviceable. Interior is 7-8/ 10 - see photos. The steering wheel is worn but factory fitted original and I like it as is.
Decent car which we have enjoyed on holidays, taking to Goodwood and the occasional classic car event.
A very useable P6 with a unique history.
Located J11 M20. It's unique - find another one!
