Description
For Sale my 1994 Toyota Celica GT-Four.
Owned the car for the last 5 years and loved every moment. Originally imported into the UK from Japan in 2006 I believe I’m the 5th UK owner. The mileage is a mix of Kilometres and miles, first mileage registered in this country being 84143 miles (when it was converted from kilometres I believe) and is now on 96148 miles so I would say it’s on roughly 65k actual miles overall. It has been loved and looked after in my ownership and before, not immaculate but a great looking car and in good condition for 30 years old now.
I have carried out work on the vehicle myself being a Master Technician at Toyota.
When I bought it in 2019 it had an invoice from where I’d bought it from for some £1600 of parts/ work being carried out prior to purchase including belts, fluids, super strut components, water pump, charge cooler pump, etc. Mechanically drives superb, the 17inch wheels near spotless with good condition Hankook tyres, I fitted new brakes in 19/ 20 being EBC grooved discs and yellow stuff pads front and genuine Toyota on the rear, all brake hoses have been replaced and underneath the pipes are in great condition ( the vehicle having been undersealed ).
Further parts included a new bonnet insulator again genuine Toyota and the bonnet grille renewed for a as new old stock item. The vents were poorly wrapped in carbon fibre so I sourced gloss carbon fibre ones from a company in Latvia. Under the bonnet the engine is stock I believe apart from an aftermarket blow off valve fitted in place for the stock recirculating one.
In 21/ 22 I replaced the cambelt, water pump (whole unit including the rear thermostat section as the front was leaking) along with idlers/ tensioner etc.
More recently I have replaced the rear tired shock absorbers with KYB OEM quality ones (difficult to get new Toyota ones now) along with the bump stops which being 30 years old had reverted to dust. Next included renewing the rear anti roll bar drop links and replacing the mount bushes for poly bushes. Also the rear diff input oil seal has been replaced with fresh 80w90 oil used.
The clutch bite point is low but doesn’t slip and the gear change has some play. Those are my next to do which will happen in the next month or two. I have the shifter bushes already and a clutch was my next purchase.
Fresh MOT as of 17 July 2024 with minimal advisories of slight oil leak from engine (sump pan) and a couple of CV boot clips slightly weak allowing weep of grease.
Any more questions please do get in touch as too much to list. A great 90s Japanese rally car for the road, a real enjoyable B road blast. I love this car and choose it over a mk4 Supra and I don’t regret that. Toyota Reliability mixed with a small amount of Banzai engineering.
This particular vehicle was imported from Japan in 2006 (I have a copy of the original export certificate) and has only covered 13000miles since then being sorn for a period circa 2013-2017. standard GT-Four spec for the year (not a WRC model). Paintwork has been resprayed in the past keeping its original colour of silver. Very clean however, really great shade of silver and it presents itself really well.
The Japanese car history check came back clean with no anomaly's and matches the export certificate I have. Both available on request.
