Description
The Celica TRD Sports M is a rare, limited-production variant of the Gen 7 Toyota Celica. Only 1200 were ever manufactured. It was made for the Japanese domestic market. The Sports M features numerous performance and aesthetic enhancements from Toyota Racing Development (TRD). Key upgrades include a stiffened chassis and suspension, a more powerful high revving 1. 8L engine with 200bhp, a close-ratio 6-speed gearbox with a helical limited-slip differential.
First registered Sept 1999, this car has had 3 previous owners. No. 0386 (of 1200). I have owned the car since 2014. It is in exceptional condition for a car of its age. The bodywork is sound with no obvious dinks or scratches. There is some superficial wear on the drivers seat. As far as I can tell, everthing works. MOT to May 21st 2026. Toyo Proxes all round (2 new ones on the front). Two sets of spare wheels/ tyres are available to purchase seperately if required. I bought this car with the intention of using it for track days but, after a couple of circuits I decided the car was too good to risk on track (I then bought a Cliosport for track use, but that's another story).
It really is a joy to drive. At low revs it's just like any other Celica, but wind it up to 6000rpm and the power kicks in all the up to 8200rpm. The close ratio gearbox means that you can stay within that power band through all the gears. It still puts a smile on my face !
