Description
For sale- my much loved 1989 Ford Mk4 Escort Tennis edition cabriolet . I have owned this car for 5 years during which time I have carried out a lot of work, including replacing all the bushes for power flex poly bushes, new nut and bolts on underneath components, powder coating rear suspension arms, new stone chip paint underneath and new brake pipes both solid and flexible just to list some of the work carried out.
It is in standard condition including the white roof and half leather Recarro interior. I have replaced the headlights and spot lights for aftermarket ones but still have the originals.
The wheels have been stripped and re powder coated including the spare which is also an alloy along with 4 new tyres.
I have a large folder with an extensive amount of history including the original sales invoice( Dales of Falmouth) right through to all the MOT’s and tax discs. It passed its MOT this month with no advisories. It has currently done 176, 112 miles and can be verified by the MOT.
There are currently less than 20 of this model on the road. It runs and drives great, everything works including the electric hood and also has the original white tonneau cover.
It has always been kept in a garage under a cover and has driven only a few hundred miles in the last few years.
Included in the folder is an original brochure from Ford for this model. This car has also featured on the front cover of Practical Classics in July 2020 and is currently guaranteed insured for £10, 000 with Footman James. The car is a real head turner and gets lots of attention when out on the road or at shows. Even more so when they find out about the history of the tennis edition and how many are left on the road.
