Description
1938 ford fordor deluxe sedan.
Tons of U. K. history used by the war department and sold at auction for civilian use in 1947.
customised and upgraded in the late 50s/ 60s with receipts for it. 12volt conversion, Allard heads and intake, mk2 consul/ zephyr pedals with hydraulic clutch and girling master cylinders, MK2 heater. Ford Pilot column change, pilot front axle with hydraulic brakes. 30s ford rear hydraulic brakes.
This is a really solid car no rot anywhere with black lacquer paint painted again in the 60s with receipts it is blistered and could do with flatting off and repainting unless you like it, wartime olive drab showing through in places too so would be great candidate to be turned back to a staff car for little expense.
Interior again re trimmed in the 50s and is absolutely immaculate.
Original buff logbook with 2 owners from new father and then son who drove it until parked in the late 70s. With the history supplied you should have no problem at all retaining the original number too.
I picked it up a couple months back but in reality I have nowhere to store this and it is too good to be kept outside not under cover . I got the motor running (see video)and it starts on the button now, clutch and brakes need bleeding and checking but by the condition of the car I can’t see you will have any big problems getting this on the road with a couple weekends work it really is that good. I just unfortunately don’t have the time or spare money to spend on it.
Who ever comes to see it I’m sure will fall in love with it.
