The name Mirabeau is taken from the Monaco F1 circuit corner just before entering the famous tunnel.
Build to order in 1995, and used as demonstrator, so has many featured Magazine articles.
Bought as non-runner in 2013 and had over 9 years in rebuild before completion, at a rebuild cost of over £70k, completed in 2022
The original 2. 9 V6 Cologne engine and Ford LSD gearbox, replaced with a Alfa V6, offering 190 bhp and six speed gearbox with a bespoke lister bell six speed gear change, new clutch, oil cooler, and chrome rollover hoops to give it more rigidity and safety. In standard format, the Deon weighing 950kg the Alfa 166 weighing 1500kg which gives an impressive power to weight ratio and is more in keeping with the original Dino engine and gearbox,
A road worthy Alfa 2. 5 24 v Busso with a FSH (documented) and only 46k miles (MOTs verify). The car was used and tested for 6 months before the engine and gearbox was transplanted. The engine was checked and the oil and water pumps changed at this point.
Chassis professionally altered and strengthened. Then stripped and powder coated. The footwells have been widened and deepened and the centre tunnel reduced in size.
Front spoiler redesigned, sills strengthened and redesigned, rear engine cover split into two, engine and boot cover.
New dash, recovered and new instruments fitted.
Body removed and stripped top and underneath, then painted with Ferrari Blu Scuro paint code 20-A-357 2k blue. And sealed underneath.
Electric windows uprated motors and winder mechanism.
New glass sourced and fitted.
Steering collum refabricated allowing for a better driving position.
Door opening handles renewed with new door locking and opening mechanism.
All new bespoke AVO coil over adjustable suspension, new uprated brakes, discs and pads. New A frames, bushes, ball joints and knuckles.
New bespoke Willwood pedal box with dual circuit brakes and masters, a new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder.
Clap hand washer wipers designed made and fitted.
New radiator, radiator fans, alloy expansion tank.
14” Campagnolo wheels, with correct tyres fitted.
Alfa 166 front hubs disc and callipers fitted. Rear Turbo callipers with handbrake.
New carpets and leather retrimmed seats, new door cards made and leather trimmed.
All new seals, rain gutters, wiring,
New dash and instruments.
Lights new and upgraded front and rear, to 246 Dino specifications.
New race battery. New hand-built exhaust system, giving a wonderful V6 sound.
Race battery and trickle charger, space saver spare wheel, period door mirrors.
The car has had a number of driver upgrades done to car, wider and deeper footwell, all brakes upgraded, Steering column refabricated and improved angle, seat lowered and runners fitted, suspension all round, to improve driving experience.
I am just over six foot and can drive car comfortably.
Correctly registered with DVLA as Deon with colour blue and correct engine and matching numbers, on V5
I have hundreds of photos of the rebuild progress.
Very rare car only seven ever built and not many to this standard.
Bespoke soft top frame designed and new mohair hood made to fit and give good weatherproofing, which will detach and can just place in boot in minutes.
