This is my dad's 500SL, which we've owned for several years now.
Unfortunately, he’s now finding it difficult to get in and out of it, and although I’d love to keep it, I simply have too many cars of my own.
It’s safe to say the car's body is rust-free.
When we bought it a few years ago, all the guards were removed, and the wheel arches were thoroughly cleaned. The lower arms and other components were prepped and hand-painted.
The engine and gearbox are in perfect working order. However, I do have a to-do list of items that I’ll tackle as time allows.
Negative points:
- It needs and deserves a respray to bring it up to mint condition.
- The battery is weak from lack of use.
- The gear selector needs a decal to identify the gears.
The MOT is valid until 07/ 08/ 2025.
I also have the red hardtop, which will be included with the car.
