one of the last in line of the Series 2 models

Long wheel base model top of the range v12 beast . fuel injection model not like earlier carb types.
Sold as restoration / recommissioning project
genuine Low miles of 49, 200 will not increase as vehicle off road and not driven,
Tax and mot exempt in UK.
Previous owner was my neighbour who owned it since 1984 (can be evidenced) .
Driven once a week to church on Sunday and special family occasions as he was a builder hence the low miles. He sadly passed in 2015 after long term illness and I bought it off his son in April 2018.
Car was off road and garaged since approx 2007 and since acquiring I strted work on it and have fitted a brand new fuel pump to get it started/ running, drained old fuel from tanks and put in 2 in tank filters, new engine bay fuel filter, 2 new air filters (included in sale), cleaned spark plugs and had the alternator reconditioned.
However un-forseen circumstances meant i was not able to do any more work to it to date so ive put it up to see what interest i get.
Will need recommissioning to be road worthy
So from what i can see:
1) All rubber/ perishable things like coolant/ and fuel hoses, tyres,
fluids (engine oil, gearbox oil, coolant, brake fluid, diff oil),
2) Brake system service. discs pads or clean and lubricate etc
3) Check and clean all connections in the engine bay
4) Spark plugs (x12) and Ht ignition leads
5) possibly a pair of new fuel tanks needed if you can't get them cleaned out as the fuel that drained out was dis-coloured so im guessing some surface rust on inside of tanks (they don't leak)
6) all filters, oil , fuel, cabin filter (2x new air filters included)
7) new battery
8) Some surface rust on floors , needs a small patch welding on passenger side front but I do have 2 brand new LWB full floor panels bought from David Manners group to include with the car anyway if you wish to do a proper restoration.
10) roof lining sagging (cosmetic and common issue easily fixed)
11) paintwork to passenger wing, Other than that the paintwork can be used as-is in oem condition, maybe a machine polish.
12) new outer seal on Webasto glass sunroof.
worth putting back on road, arches scuttle panel , pillars are solid. too good to strip for parts.
the above list is all minor things that any car thats been off road a while would need. most of it can be done at home by a competent d. i. y person.

Good original complete car with v5 logbook in my name (5 prev keepers including last 2 which were father and son)
only aftermarket item is a Toad alaram and immobilizer .
HPi data checked on time of purchase and was all clear, buyer is welcome to do any inspection at their own cost.
Original birmingham supplied car. Some invoices/ receipts, original sales brochures and Haynes manual all present 2 sets of keys
Good spec with full cream leather to compliment the period brown paint, brown carpets, auto, all electrics air con, original stereo, vynil roof with sunroof
Delivery can be arranged at buyers expense from local transport company, uk mainland only at approx £1. 00 a mile plus base charge of £50 so e. g 100 miles would cost £150. but you would need to come and view the car , FULL PAYMENT etc and go from there.
I was planning on restoring this and passing it on to my son as a future investment but have no idea when il get around to it so rather see it go to a good home. if it doesn't fetch close to the asking price il just keep it until i can get around to it. so no silly offers its worth the asking price in parts.
These are becoming rarer by the day and given that Jaguar Cars ceased production of the XJ and all its other models it will only go up in value.
Please see other restored example on here and other specialist classic car sites ebay etc for an idea of value as they vary considerably. This should not be confused with inferior 2. 8, 3. 6, or 4. 2 models. This is a top of the range 5. 3 V12 boasting the same engine as used in the E Type.
