Hi and welcome to the listing for my Citroen AX with a twist.
A bit of a sleeper having been fitted with an engine from an AX GT, it also benefits from: a skimmed head for increased compression, 3-angle valve seats and a twin-choke weber 32/ 34 DTLM carburettor. Should be good for around 105-110 bhp so a decent increase on the GT's standard 85 bhp output and in a car that weighs under 700kg, makes for a fun little pocket rocket!
Engine aside, it is a completely original and rare early example of AX - the earliest known in the UK having been an ex Citroen UK press car!
Benefits from an engine service and coolant change earlier this year.
The underneath is all solid and the exhaust from the down pipe back looks almost new.
Interior is in good original condition throughout.
Bodywork is presentable overall but there are a couple of scabs here and there and a scratch to the nearside rear quarter, along with age-related marks.
Comes with some spare parts as well as a bundle of paperwork, including a service book and more recent invoices/ receipts for parts and work done.
One I know I'm probably going to regret selling but I need to try and reduce the collection a bit.
Update 24/ 10 - Went to start it today but it wouldn't go, I don't think fuel is getting to the carb as it does run on some spray. Will therefore need to be trailered away. Price reduced to reflect this, would make a great easy project for someone.
