With low miles at 6, 700 and low owners, 2 previous to me, this is an immaculate example of the classic Thunderbird 900, built in Hinckley UK when Triumphs were over-engineered to establish a reputation for robustness and reliability. I spent a long time looking for one that had the right specification, being the second series with 6-speed transmission and chrome engine casings. This bike also has the factory options of: centre-stand, front fork guards, chrome chainguard and chrome radiator surround.
This was going to be a keeper for me so in 2024 I fitted new Avon tyres (reputedly the best choice for these bikes) due to the age of the original tyres, complete with new tubes and rim-tapes, as well as new brake lines, again due to age, replaced with OEM. Within the last 12 months/ 500 miles it's had a full service with oil, oil filter, sparkplugs, K&N air filter, new petrol tap and new battery. It has 12 months’ MOT till 11/ 3/ 2026. Please check the photos for condition, it is truly immaculate. There is no damage anywhere - the petrol tank and mudguards are unmarked and the seat looks like new. It’s extremely clean with paintwork all visible under the rear mudguard. The exhaust pipes are all shining and the silencers are completely unmarked. The original mirrors are all correct. These are fantastic to ride, with great handling, surprisingly good brakes, plenty of power and that great triple sound track. They're also excellent for taking a pillion due to the comfortable, flattish seat, low seat height and upright riding position.
