1999 Toyota MR2 JDM GT Turbo coupe
A very rare opportunity to own a final year of production, genuine MK2 Revision 5, top spec. GT turbo with factory fitted LSD.
This car has the benefit of some nice factory options such as aluminium sill trim & foot pedals. Also fitted is a black headliner - this is extremely rare on the coupe models. Being the GT model it also comes with half leather / red-backed perforated alcantara seats, which are unique to the revision 5 GT turbo.
Imported in late 2003, changed ownership 8 months later and remained with this owner for 21 years. Kept in original condition and has been used every year, being serviced and maintained every year without fail. This MR2 has STACKS of history (too much to list), so here are the main items over the last few years;
- Glass-out respray in factory Super Red 2
- Cambelt kit, water pump, idlers replaced
- Radiator, thermostat & coolant flush
- Wheels refurbished
- Infinity custom SS exhaust
- All new brake discs shields, brake discs & pads
- All new Bilstein yellow shocks & springs + front lower arms
- Gearbox overhaul + New Exedy clutch + MT90 gear oil (Rogue Motorsport)
- Ignition coil, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor arm replaced
- New intercooler hoses
- New NSR brake caliper
- Oil + filter, fuel filter, spark plugs within the last 1000 miles
Lots of New OEM Toyota parts - gear knob, rear view mirror, scuttle panel, trim items, etc.
Recently MOT'd, with only 1 advisory for nsf drop link, which has since been replaced.
As you would expect this MR2 performs very well and the engine is very healthy. Always run on shell v power, and always warmed up fully before using any boost. There is also a Clifford alarm / immobilizer with built in turbo-timer to cool the turbo properly after an enthusiastic drive.
This car is a very rare find, especially with this length of ownership, history, condition, and spec. The originality is nice to see and not easy to find in the MR2 market.
This car will be sold on a first come first served basis. I will not hold the car for anyone, unless full payment is made in advance. My private reg is currently being taken off and will revert to it's original reg of S429 KRO.
