Description
I'm selling my 1948 bsa a7 tele rigid.
It had been off the road since 1965 until the previous owner gave it a full mechanical rebuild .
It's very original even down to the nuts and bolts. It needed totally rebuilding so it was stripped right back to a bare frame and cleaned, rebuilt and renewed all the worn parts. The following work was completed; fully rebuilt engine with new valves, guides, pistons, ground crank, bearings and bushes.
Primary chain, clutch, oil pump, gearbox fully overhauled, magneto.
New brake linings, steering bearings, and lots of other things.
It was built it to be reliable and its really been great.
It has a patina which could never be replicated and I think it would be a shame to restore the paintwork. It has the original buff log book showing the engine and frame matching. I have done many miles on this bike over the last few years and it has never let me down. I think it would be difficult to find another like this. Thanks for looking.
