Description

1974 Honda CB750 in Candy Gold. 9, 700 miles

First registered on 1 January 1974 in Nebraska, USA, this machine was imported into the UK in 2020 with under 6, 000 miles on the odometer and in excellent original condition.

The previous owner, who had a collection of Japanese classics, had the bike fully recommissioned by a Honda specialist but retained the originality– the wheels, engine and frame, wiring, nuts and bolts still show their original factory finish. The mileage was clearly genuine and the bike had been stored properly. The refresh included a new seat, tank and panel repaint, sprockets and chains, engine and carb overhaul, cables and tyres plus fitting UK spec handlebars and switch gear and a UK rear light (the originals are sold with the bike).

I have owned the bike since 2023 when it was showing 7, 300 miles. I have done an oil and filter change (10/ 40 oil), fitted a new torque start battery, an led headlight bulb (original sealed beam unit with the bike), fork gaiters and front brake pads, piston and seal.

A very clean and mostly original bike, with sensible (reversible) modifications only. I have covered 2, 400 trouble free, dry miles. It runs and rides beautifully – the engine sound and exhaust note is delightful, but it is simply not used enough as I own several other classics.

A very useable and sorted example of the iconic first superbike.
