Description
1967 Plymouth Belvedere 2
383 Big Block Chrysler
Road, Drag Race Car
As far as I’m aware its numbers matching, with the engine being the original it left with from the factory.
I’ve had this car for the last 10 years, however not much use over the last 2 years. It runs faultlessly on both the road and the drag strip. I just don’t use it anymore.
I’ve tried to include everything I can think of below, however feel free to ask any questions.
Viewing welcome, Derby.
I’m just waiting for a set of wheels to come back from the painters, I’ll then get some up to date photos uploaded to add to the sale post.
Engine
30 thou oversize bore, Edelbrock carb, Edelbrock Torker 383 intake manifold, Crane Cams adjustable rocker arms and rocker arm shafts, chromoly pushrods, Mopar Purple cam with solid lifters, heavy duty timing chain, high volume oil pump, ported 906 cylinder heads (recently refreshed), forged pistons, forged connecting rods, forged crank, Mahle connecting rod and main bearings. Recently had sump off to check bottom end and its all still like brand new! ARP main studs and ARP connecting rod hardware.
Ignition
Crane Cams Fireball HI-6R ignition controller (adjustable rpm limit) with Fireball ignition coil and Mallory Unilite distributor, Moroso ignition wires, cole-hersee battery isolator. Battery relocated to the boot.
Gearbox
727 Torqueflite, recently rebuilt with heavy duty clutches, full manual valve body, coupled with a B+M rachet shifter, high stall torque converter (3500-4000 stall), large Hayden trans oil cooler.
Exhaust
Exhaust headers and full exhaust system. This can easily be removed to run open headers at the dragstrip.
Differential
8 ¾ inch sure grip (clutch style) with 4. 10 gears, was built by Volusia drivetrains.
Fuel System
JAZ fuel cell in boot, high volume mechanical fuel pump, Powerflow fuel filter. All compression fittings/ AN fittings.
Cooling System
Mechanical fan and alloy radiator, never gets hot either sat in traffic or in the pairing lanes at the strip.
Interior
STR harnesses, auto meter sport comp tachometer, water, oil pressure and fuel gauges. Line lock, bucket seats, lexan glass side windows, aftermarket heater under dash, works very well. I do have the rear seats and other bits of interior, they just aren’t fitted.
Exterior
Please remember this is nearly a 60 year old car. Paintwork is presentable for an old race car. Black steel wheels on the back, Cragars on the front, I do have another pair of Cragars to go with it.
Chassis
Prop loop and frame connectors. Billet UJ straps.
