Description

Beautiful 1969 Ford Mustang convertible for sale. Arguably the most attractive iteration of this iconic design and a truly imposing car when seen in person. This car left the Baton Rouge plant in Dearborn Michigan on 11 February 1969 and came to Ireland from Oklahoma in 2014 via the United Kingdom. It appears to have led a very easy life and needed mostly cosmetic work to bring it to a high standard. The engine is fitted with a holly carburetor, starts and runs perfectly and needed no attention. More attractive than a modern Mustang and better yet will appreciate rather than depreciate as you enjoy it. The car was made with upgraded “Grande” trim level with optional high back bucket front seats etc. Restored as a labor of love over many years it is now in immaculate condition with hand finished volcanic orange paint and racing stripes. The vibrant color combination really suits the character of the car, especially when combined with chrome wheels. The car has rebuilt front and rear suspension, new shock absorbers, rebuilt power steering, brand new interior including black seat covers and carpets, new black convertible top, new boot mat and trim, front and rear seatbelts, new brake master cylinder and slave cylinders, all new hoses, new battery, decals, coil, plug wires, distributor cap, new starter relay, air filter housing, fuel pump, fuel filter, water pump, rebuilt interior heater body, battery-kill/ anti-theft switch, rebuilt door hinges to prevent sagging, new chrome door sill plates, new prancing horse fuel tank cap, and many other items too numerous to list. Includes a discreetly located new modern Bluetooth radio with quadraphonic speakers to enjoy with the top down. Fitted with dual, chromed free flow exhaust so sounds extraordinary even without the radio, i. e. think NASCAR V8 rumble. Comes with the original 5 volume set of Ford workshop manuals. Other than a brief test drive the car has never been driven in Ireland and has certainly never been driven in the rain, so remains dent free, chip free and spotless above and below as can be seen in the photographs.

Caveats
The headlights are relatively dim by modern standards and could stand to be upgraded if you intend to drive at night. The time clock in the dash was restored but stops occasionally, probably due to lack of use, i. e. the battery disconnect is detached 99% of the time

Cost
The car has been part of a small private collection for the past 11 years. It is now time to sell to a good home where the car will be used, shown and appreciated. The price is well below comparable cars and reflects the fact that the car is located in Ireland and essentially covers the cost of the base car and parts, with many hours of work coming as a labor of love.

Location
The car is located in southeast Ireland in easy reach of ports leading to Fishguard, Pembroke and Holyhead in the United Kingdom. Seller can assist with transport and shipping to the United Kingdom, or elsewhere.
