Description
My brother bought the SCURA from the original owner in 2004 and I acquired the bike a year later in 2005 to use alongside my bevel drive desmo DUCATI during most summers (hence the relatively low mileage of the Guzzi).
I have done regular oil/ filter changes using SMITH's V-TWIN 20W/ 50 Race oil and there are several MOT certificates, the latest expiring in July.
The SCURA has been totally reliable (except for the replacement of the pawl spring in the gearbox selector) and the tyres and battery have been replaced as necessary.
Having owned the bike for 20yrs, I'm now 76 and feel it's time to let another owner have the experience of riding this characterful machine.
New price, now £7, 250SCURA in Italian means "dark", hence the striking appearance. It's a limited-edition model (S488 out of a total believed to be 600) and features fully adjustable OHLINS suspension back/ front, BREMBO Gold Series brakes, a stainless exhaust (no catalytic converter, so less to go wrong) and carbon fibre silencers plus other carbon fibre trimmings.
The panels adj. the seat are slightly scuffed (see photos)
By this time, APRILIA had taken over at the Mandello factory bringing much-improved build quality and reliability to the V11.
I have replaced the clip-on bars with straight bars from the CAFE SPORT model to give a more relaxed riding position more suited to carrying a passenger (my wife). The clip-ons are included in the sale as is a GIVI luggage rack fitted.
There are two ignition keys and an Owners Manual plus a Scura supplement.
