This is a 2008, one owner LHD Land Rover LR3 (Discovery 3). It has the 4. 0 litre V6 naturally aspirated petrol engine with the 6 speed automatic gearbox. It is an Alpine White HSE model with full beige leather interior and 7 forward facing seats.
It has a full service history from new. Most of the service history is from Land Rover main dealers with the rest from specialist independent Land Rover garages. It has been maintained regardless of cost throughout its life. It has an MOT until 12 March 2026. It has covered 165, 000 miles (265, 500 km).
I bought the LR3 new in 2008 from the main Land Rover dealer in Muscat, Oman, Mohsin Haider Darwish (MHD). It was always serviced in Oman by MHD. In 2015 my work took me to Dubai in the UAE and of course our LR3 came with us. In Dubai it was serviced by the main Land Rover dealer in Dubai, Al Tayer Motors and also by the Land Rover specialist AAA Service Centre Dubai.
In 2018 we returned home to Scotland and the LR3 was shipped back to the the UK.
It was imported and registered in the UK and we bought the private number plate LRO3 OMR (LR3 Omani Rial) which is included in the price.
The first job on arrival in the UK was to have it professionally rust proofed. This was carried out by a company in Scotland and it remains today completely rust free.
The LR3 is a dream to drive with a very smooth and comfortable ride.
It comes with a Front Runner roof rack, rear ladder and BF Goodrich All Terrain tires. While in Oman it was fitted with a Roof Top Tent and an Awning (no longer with the vehicle). We had many happy adventures camping around Oman with the LR3. As such, it makes a very competent overland vehicle and is extremely capable offroad.
Sadly we have decided to sell this lovely vehicle to make way for a new Land Rover project.
The LR3 is in outstanding condition and is ready for new adventures with its next owner. I have been a Land Rover fanatic most of my life and like most Land Rover fans I have always owned more than one at a time. When we lbought this LR3 in Oman it was primarily used by my wife around Muscat for the school run. At that time I also had a Defender 110 TD5 which I used in the desert with friends for many adventures. However when we went into the interior of Oman as a family the Defender a/ c was just not good enough for my wife and family. We therefore fitted a roof tent and awning to the LR3 for family adventures. The trips in the LR3 were never used for serious off-roading but more for BBQ based camping with friends.
The LR3 is of course perfect for this as it is extremely comfortable and safe for a family with superb a/ c and at the same time very competent off-road when needed.
In my opinion the LR3 (Discovery 3) is the best Land Rover we have ever owned, it has never let us down and can do everything a Defender can do but in a lot more comfort. However as we are now retired and getting older we have decided to move away from roof tents and ground tents and move onto a new Land Rover project that will enable us to sleep inside the vehicle. Hence the reason for selling the LR3.
