The FBW bus from 1951 was used until last year to transport guests for weddings, before which it served as a post office bus in the Swiss mountains. The bus delivered the mail to the people living in the mountains and also offered them the opportunity to get in and ride to the village. In winter the bus was given another task, keeping the route up the mountain free of snow, for which it was equipped with a snow plow.
The bus is in good technical and optical condition. The bus has a nice cream paint job with blue details. The bus also looks neat on the inside, it is equipped with benches that originally came from an English double-decker bus, but also come into their own in this mailbox. There is a passenger transport permit on this bus, the bus is approved for the transport of 30 people excluding the driver.
The engine of the bus runs nicely and starts immediately when starting. The bus is equipped with a gearbox with high and low yaw, which it needed in the mountains, but in the Netherlands the high yaw is sufficient for driving around. When driving in high yaw, the bus has 4 gears. This bus can keep up with traffic well and can travel at 80 km/ h.
