I purchased this A2 in October 2024 for daily purposes and long work trips with the idea that this cheap tax and incredible MPG would suit me perfectly. In that period it's taken me to the Netherlands & across the country very comfortably and economically.
It has served its purpose well but am now in a position where I can afford a lower mileage and more modern vehicle to assist in my long work related trips.
Unfortunately it has not been the most reliable in my ownership. Having since replaced nearside the control arm, rear wheel bearings, blower motor & regulator. It suffers from the 3rd gear crunch and has a leak coming from the gearbox that I've not had time to sort out. I am also having an issue where the front passenger window will not go back up (hence the removed doorcard that will be put back for the sale). I am confident it is not the motor and I'm sure someone who knows these cars well could figure it out quickly.
The car will come with rear brake shoes & cylinders, rear suspensions struts & springs and the offside control arm (I have recently broken my foot so am unable to carry out the jobs I was planning on doing).
I serviced the car directly after purchasing with new engine & transmission oil, fuel and air filters.
The engine feels very solid and the car is a joy to drive, I hope to find it a good home for many more happy miles!
