Description
2000 Mk1 Maggiore built Fiat Barchetta
Silver body with black/ charcoal cloth interior
5 speed manual, 1. 8 variable valve petrol engine - very versatile engine and fast enough to have fun.
This is the first generation Barchetta and in my opinion the prettier model with the correct front design and smooth bonnet.
Imported by DTR Sports Cars (Italian car specialist) 2002.
Purchased by the first U. K. owner later that year who owned it for the next 22 years!
I purchased the car from Italian Specialist Auto Capozzoli early 2025 for £6000. Before the car was slightly side-swiped (more if that later) the car was in immaculate condition.
Auto Capozzoli had just fitted a new £1000 mohair hood by Car Hood Warehouse Sevenoaks (the go-to place for classic car hoods).
The documented service history is amazing. We have two stamped service books plus every supporting documentation. The car has been looked after perfectly including multiple cambelt and variator changes.
The MOT is equally impressive, with any advisories (of which there are few) with documented repairs. The last fail was 2011 with insecure gaiters! That’s very impressive and a testament to the previous owner.
Why am I selling? A month or so ago someone swiped the car whilst parked outside my house. It isn’t very bad as can be seen in the pictures, but it’s there. I’ve decided that without garage a classic car isn’t for me.
I’ve priced it to allow for repairs should you with but many people wouldn’t notice.
The car drives perfectly, and is a lot of fun on country roads. The engine is a peach. It pulls well in any gear but equally likes being revved.
At this price I’m not interested in any offers. Please do not contact me if you think I’ll take an offer- I won’t.
It has to be one of the best available, low miles, new hood, impeccable history.
