This is Honda’s sweet spot sports bike of the 90s. known for its smooth, powerful inline-four engine (100hp). excellent handling, and rock-solid Honda reliability. Comfortable riding position makes it ideal for both spirited rides and daily use. This F3 is the last of the carbureted generation – fast, fun, and easy to maintain.
The CBR600 F3 built on the already excellent foundation of the F2, introducing a number of well-thought-out upgrades that sharpened both performance and handling. Key improvements included:
• Larger Carburettors (36mm): The F3 moved from the F2’s 34mm carbs to 36mm Keihin CV units, allowing better airflow and fueling for improved throttle response and top-end performance.
• Ram Air Induction: Honda added a basic ram-air system which helped increase air pressure at higher speeds, improving engine breathing and contributing to more power at the top end.
• Increased Compression Ratio: A bump in compression ratio from 11. 6:1 to 12. 0:1 helped extract more power and efficiency from the same displacement, improving overall engine performance.
• Upgraded Suspension: The forks and rear shock were reworked for better damping and improved ride quality, offering more confidence in corners and better feedback at higher speeds.
• Improved Swingarm: A stronger and more rigid swingarm helped improve rear-end stability, especially under heavy acceleration and during aggressive cornering.
• Wider Rear Tyre: The rear tyre size increased from 160 to 170, offering a broader contact patch for improved grip and handling.
• Larger Front Brakes: The F3 featured upgraded 296mm front discs (up from 276mm), paired with better calipers, offering stronger and more consistent braking performance.
These changes collectively made the F3 sharper, quicker, and more confidence-inspiring — a natural evolution of one of the best middleweight sportbikes of its time.
Couldn’t help myself but give a history lesson on such an unrated bike! It’s all ready to go with very low mileage. Rebuilt forks, carbs tuned, serviced and 2 Michelin tyres fitted about 6 weeks ago.
